Love beautifully made in Boracay

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton -

Romantic and fairy-tale weddings continue to unfold at the Boracay Regency Beach Resort and Convention Center, the first triple-A resort on the island. The resort’s impeccable team spearheaded by Hennan Resorts chairman Henry Chusuey has been turning weddings and special events into extraordinary, memorable affairs. Boracay holds a special place in the hearts of Dindo Salazar, resort manager and Kathleen Canlas, purchasing manager who discovered their feelings for one another while working in Boracay Regency. Love magically blossomed and after a six-year relationship, the couple elegantly clad in Jun Escario creations, finally exchanged wedding vows at the Holy Rosary Parish. A lavish reception immediately followed at the resort’s lush and expansive beachfront amidst the stunning backdrop of the sparkling blue sea, white powdery sand, and the radiant, setting sun. The efficient and hospitable staff warmly welcomed guests to a plethora of culinary surprises highlighted by intercontinental and local cuisines specially prepared for the event. Family and friends from Manila, Iloilo, Bacolod, Australia and Dubai were visibly happy to be a part of this momentous occasion.

Soulful art

Studio 10.10 artist Niccolo Jose (second from right) with family Jojo, Abel and Geng Jose

With his burning passion for wood and for creating awe-inspiring works of art, Studio 10.10’s innovative resident artist, sculptor and furniture designer Niccolo Jose has been making waves in the art scene with his extraordinary creations that speak of impeccable artistry, functionality and comfort. Niccolo recently launched his latest line of special studio furniture dubbed “Spring Collection 2012” at One Rockwell (Function Room East) in Rockwell Center, Makati City. Specially-invited guests alongside architects, interior designers and home enthusiasts thoroughly enjoyed the exhibit displaying expertly-crafted dining chairs and tables, barstools, side tables, coffee stands and decorative art fashioned out of aged wood from all over the Philippines. For the first time in the country, Niccolo also showcased a one-of-a-kind art technique called pyrography - a process of creating images from tones and shades of hardwood burn marks. The attendees were impressed to see the result of this very laborious method - amazing accent art pieces featuring faces and figures of women as subjects. Discover more of Niccolo’s ingenious furniture pieces in an exhibit at the Archaeology section of Power Plant Mall in Rockwell Center, Makati from March 1 to 5. Studio 10.10 is located at 2/F LRI Design Plaza, 210 Nicanor Garcia St., Bel Air, Makati City. For inquiries, call 822-6976 or 09175573109. Visit www.studio10-10.com.
