A festive celebration at Magnolia

Meet today’s young creative minds

Paving the way for the recognition of today’s most promising young artists, Shangri-La Plaza, staunch patron of culture and the arts, recently hosted the culminating night of the prestigious Ateneo Art Awards. Art enthusiasts, guests and friends from the media flocked to the Shangrila’s Grand Atrium for the awards ceremony. From a shortlist of 12, brilliant artists Kawayan de Guia, Bembol dela Cruz, and Maria Taniguchi were named winners for their unique and thought-provoking masterpieces: Bomba, House Blends and Echo Studies respectively. The fascinating affair had everyone admiring the impressive showcase of exhibits, paintings and various media installations presented by the featured artists.

A night of ballet in Baguio

Prima ballerina Lisa Macuja-Elizalde will be the featured artist together with Ballet Manila at a special show entitled “Encore Ballet Manila” on November 5 at 6 p.m. at the CAP-John Hay Trade and Cultural Center in Camp John Hay, Baguio City. The one-night-only show was organized by Art Blessing Baguio, Inc. through its creative director Jeannie Yñiguez for the benefit of various artistic projects and charitable missions as well as the Share-A-Joy Foundation, a joint program between Camp John Hay management and the city of Baguio. See you there!
