Getting the best education in the south
In its vision of providing opportunities for learning and development of the youth, the Villar Foundation spearheaded by its visionary chairman Manny Villar and brilliant managing director Cynthia Villar recently introduced its newest initiative — to build the University Town, which will be situated along the Las Piñas-Laguna-Cavite-Muntinlupa Link Road. The development will boast of various schools, universities and colleges as well as learning centers and other education institutions. According to Senator Villar, the University Town is a fitting tribute to National Hero Jose Rizal, who marked his 150th birthday this year, and his inspiring philosophies, particularly education as a ticket out of poverty and key to success. Highlighting the well-attended affair was the unveiling of a life-sized bronzed sculpture of the young Jose Rizal created by world-renowned Russian artist and sculptor Gregory Pototsky. Congratulations to the Villar Foundation for this remarkable endeavor that will surely benefit South-Manila based families looking for accessible and affordable education!
Sandcastles and the promise of a lifetime
The captivating Sea Wind beach resort on Boracay island was once again the chosen venue for an exchange of wedding vows. Sea Wind offers a full range of wedding services, making it a sought-after venue for nuptials by the sea. This time, the lovebirds are flight attendant Maristela “Mayet” Cu and band member Darwin Mabasa. The young, truly modern couple decided to tie the knot with a very private affair with only their immediate families in attendance. On bare feet or sandals, the whole entourage delighted in the cool sea breeze and powder-fine sand as they witnessed the once-in-a-lifetime profession of love at the beachfront of the incomparable resort headed by Sea Wind president Boy Jarantilla and his charming wife, Ruth. Congratulations, Darwin and Mayet! For inquiries, call 415-1285, email seawind@pacific.net.ph or visit www.seawindresort.net.
