MANILA, Philippines - Concepcion-Carrier Air Conditioning Company (CCAC), the country’s number one trusted solutions provider for the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R) category, recently launched the latest green cooling solutions
.
Carrier’s green cooling solutions are the most sustainable and practical solutions — eco-friendly innovations that are hi-tech, highly efficient, and highly sustainable where we can see the power of three of its benefits — the power of technology, high efficiency and sustainability.
“Carrier is the world leader in high-technology heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions, and as such, our green cooling solutions have been expressly designed to have outstanding performance in energy efficiency, innovative technology and savings,” explains Jojo Concepcion, CEO of Concepcion-Carrier.
Carrier has always pioneered in sustainability. From the moment Willis Haviland Carrier, the founder of air-conditioning, invented air-conditioning, Carrier has always pioneered a new industry and an era of sustainable solutions.
In 1996, Carrier introduced the first centrifugal chiller with non-ozone depleting R-134a refrigerant, which is also available in the Carrier 23XRV chiller. This and other milestones have enabled Carrier to step ahead in the world by extending its leadership beyond its products to be the only company in the world to be a founding member of the Green Building Councils of the US, Argentina, China, India, Singapore and France.
In the Philippines, Concepcion-Carrier continues to lead in pioneering the vision for green building solutions as the only sustaining member of the Philippine Green Building Council (PhilGBC) that is a cooling solutions provider.
Carrier’s other innovations have cooled many of the world’s most valued buildings and landmarks. An example of this is the Bank of America Tower in New York City, which became the first LEED Platinum-certified US skyscraper. In our region, the Bosch Southeast Asia regional headquarters where the innovative Carrier 23XRV chiller with its outstanding performance in efficiency and its non-ozone depleting refrigerant enabled significant energy savings and contributed to the Bosch Southeast Asia regional headquarters in obtaining the Singapore Platinum Green Mark for Green Buildings.
Here in the Philippines, many important structures and establishments, including award-winning green buildings, are likewise cooled by Carrier.
According to Concepcion, Carrier’s green solutions are the results of years of dedicated research and development in line with Carrier’s long-term commitment to create breakthroughs in green technology and lead in the phase-out of ozone-depleting refrigerants.
Carrier’s green products have been the top choice for many residential, light commercial and commercial spaces, and three of these innovations are among the company’s most acclaimed: the Carrier XPower Inverter, the Carrier Evergreen 23XRV chiller, and the Toshiba-Carrier SMMSi.
Xpower Inverter
The Carrier XPower Inverter is a hit among many homes and light commercial establishments for the significant savings that the power of inverter technology provides. A true green product, it uses non-ozone depleting, chlorine-free R-410a refrigerant and is measured to give up to 53 percent more energy savings versus other leading inverters.
Through its inverter cooling operation, the Carrier XPower delivers the efficiency of having comfortable room temperature. This high efficiency comes from the latest DC Rotary inverter technology that combines two control systems, resulting in world-class performance in energy saving and comfort.
The Carrier XPower also has special nano air filters for consumer wellness and dynamic timers for maximum convenience.
Carrier Evergreen
The Carrier Evergreen 23XRV is the world’s first integrated variable-speed, water-cooled screw chiller. Compared to other typical chillers, the Carrier 23XRV has 15-30 percent better part load efficiency and a 2 year payback.
While other chillers remain at constant full load, the 23XRV can quickly react to system changes, at greater power and higher efficiency. The Carrier 23XRV’s power of efficiency is completed by a fully non-ozone depleting refrigerant, R134a.
The remarkable reliability and efficiency of this innovation gives it the capability to cool the most demanding structures such as malls, hotels, hospitals and data centers, and have led to prestigious awards from international organizations in the Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) industry, such as the Facility Care Top Product Award, Perfect 10 Bronze Winner Product of the Year and the 2008 AHR Expo Innovation award.
Three Inverters, Three Compressors
The Super Modular Multi System or SMMSi, was developed with Concepcion-Carrier’s partners — Carrier, the inventor of air conditioning in conjunction with Toshiba, the inventor of inverters. The Toshiba-Carrier SMMSi is a first-class air-conditioning technology and the most advanced inverter or variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system for large buildings that is 30 percent more energy-efficient than conventional VRF inverters.
The SMMSi uses up to three inverters and three twin-rotary compressors in combination, a first in the air-conditioning industry.
This pioneering innovation allows for extremely high energy-efficiency, reliability and operational stability especially for massive structures, as well as buildings that have required 24/7 operations such as hotels, convenience stores and call centers.
“We have had the privilege of supplying many prestigious companies and establishments, as well as countless valued homeowners, with our green cooling solutions,” says Concepcion.
“Carrier has consistently led all over the world in pioneering the most efficient, most practical and most sustainable solutions for residential and commercial establishments. For them and for us, going green makes perfect sense. Today, we at Concepcion-Carrier continue to pioneer in providing these solutions to our country, in ensuring that the country is in touch with the Carrier vision of providing a better and more comfortable place to live, work and play for future generations.”
