MANILA, Philippines – Clothes make the man, they say. And there’s no better time to start them than when they are young. This is the design philosophy of Capolino, a new line of clothing for boys that now gives moms another reason to dote on the little men in their lives. Capolino founder and designer Juana Manahan-Yupangco names her own adorable capolino Jaime as her inspiration in creating the line.
“If little girls are apt to mimicking their mothers, little boys could very well echo the role model that is their dad,” says Juana Manahan-Yupangco. “The overall look is one of a gentleman of consequence at leisure.”
The preppy boy’s line was recently launched at Somerset Salcedo through an intimate trunk show with lots of Juana’s young mommy friends in attendance. The two-bedroom serviced residence was transformed into a haven for moms and their kids, with toys and treats laid out. Somerset Salcedo features generous living spaces that present an ideal place to call home compared to the cramped confines of typical hotel rooms.
The well-appointed residences offer stylish interiors, modern amenities, and cozy living areas, creating a luxurious harmony of comfort and sensorial tranquility. From spacious studio apartments to three-bedroom units, the fully furnished apartments are each fitted with fully equipped kitchens, personal entertainment systems, and broadband Internet access. The residence is the perfect place to hold intimate and cozy gatherings, such as the trunk show of Capolino.
The gathering was held as part of the Times of your Life program of The Ascott Limited, which invites guests to experience their once-in-a-lifetime milestones at any of the four properties of Ascott Makati, Somerset Millennium, Somerset Olympia, and Somerset Salcedo.
