A new landmark rises in Makati

MANILA, Philippines - Construction of the Raffles development at the corner of Makati and Arnaiz Avenues — which features a 279-room Fairmont Hotel, a 30-suite Raffles Hotel and 236 Raffles branded private residences — is progressing steadily and has reached the 19th floor.

In keeping with the Raffles brand, the precise engineering of the design means that all aspects of this tower are built to the highest quality and consistency. The developers, KHI-ALI Manila, a joint venture between Kingdom Hotel Investments (KHI) and Ayala Land, have ensured that the building meets all international and local building requirements. Glass cladding and the granite facade are being installed and internal electro-magnetic work is currently underway.

“Our main objective is to ensure that the very best in engineering, architecture, interiors, finishes and infrastructure are employed in the making of this iconic building,” explained Garry Constantine, project general manager, KHI-ALI Manila. “Build quality and design excellence have always set this project apart and we are pleased to work with one of the leading construction companies in the Philippines — DMCI Holdings Inc.”

As part of KHI’s value creation strategy, the company develops branded residential components alongside hotels in high growth markets like the Philippines. This strategy mandates internal quality protocols to qualify for superior certification standards by reputed agencies. The Raffles Residences and its designs are being appropriately certified by internationally renowned consultancy firm Bureau Veritas of France.

“Our enduring values of excellence, high standards of quality and timelines without compromising safety have always been the driving forces of this project,” said Edilberto C. Palisoc, executive vice president, DMCI.

“The support for quality construction is reflected by the brisk sales pace the project has seen to date. We are delighted to deliver a product that our owners and guests will be proud of,” said Brad Berry, vice president of Real Estate Sales, KHI.

This flagship project complements Ayala Land’s ongoing redevelopment of the Ayala Center, at the heart of the Makati Central Business District.

“We are pleased that engineering and construction works are progressing towards the delivery of Raffles Residences and Fairmont Hotel to clients. This building will become one of the focal points in the redevelopment of Ayala Center,” said Anna Ma. Margarita Dy, head of Strategic Land Bank Management Group, Ayala Land.
