Bringing classical music closer to Filipinos
The joy of listening to classical music is now more accessible to local aficionados as the Filfest Cultural Foundation, in partnership with Insular Life, presents various musical feasts with seasoned and up-and-coming artists of this generation. Led by its president Vicky Zubiri, the first musical soiree for this year was held in her beautiful home where violinist Joseph Esmilla and pianist Rudolf Golez showed their musical prowess to the guests of the intimate gathering. This sparked a partnership between Filfest and Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC) Philippines headed by Bobby Rosales which resulted to a series of performances sponsored by ACC, including one held at the Tower Club in Makati. For the third gala presentation, the soiree of musical geniuses returns to Alabang for the Filfest Cultural Foundation’s closing concert of the season featuring eight of the country’s best sopranos Joy Tamayo, Rachelle Gerodias, Jennifer Uy, Camille Lopez Molina, Jeannele Roldan, Lena Mckenzie, Emilyn Olfindo and Meliza Reyes. A musical extravaganza will also take place on Oct. 23 at the Insular Life Auditorium which will showcase four dancers led by Myra Beltran and four musicians headed by Alfonso “Coke” Bolipata. I can’t wait to see these shows! For tickets and information, call 666-4095 or 0918-9419472 or e-mail filfestfoundationfyi @yahoo.com.ph.
