Robinsons Supermarket holds Trade Partners' Night

MANILA, Philippines - Robinsons Supermarket recently gave recognition to its trade partners in its Trade Partners’ Night held at the Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila.

The annual event gives recognition to partners who excelled in their categories and helped grow Robinsons’ business despite the economic challenges in 2009.

Guests were welcomed by general manager Jody Gadia who thanked them for their continued support in making 2009 a very successful year marked by unprecedented growth.

Lance Gokongwei, Robinsons Supermarket vice chairman and deputy chief executive officer, and Robina Gokongwei–Pe, Robinsons Supermarket president and chief operating officer, were on hand to thank trade partners for the successful year.

Top awardees included Hall of Fame Award recipient Unilever Philippines, which was recognized for having achieved the Platinum Apple Award for three consecutive years. Account manager Danica Caynap received the Outstanding Key Account Manager Award for Non-Food.

The Platinum Apple Award was given to Nestle Philippines Inc. for its exemplary growth across several categories. The company was also awarded the Best Robinsons Supermarket Exclusive Campaign/Promotion/In-Store Activation. Two of its key account managers received top awards in their category — Joey Cedo for Outstanding Key Account Manager Food Division, and Allan Garcia for Outstanding Key Account Manager Fresh and Processed Food Division.

The following companies received the top awards in various categories for sales growth, service level excellence, efficient service, and trade support in different categories: Monde Nissin Corporation, Gold Apple Award for Food Division; Wrigley Philippines Inc., Silver Apple Award for Food Division; Lakeside Food & Beverages Corporation, Bronze Apple Award for Food Division; Division: Colgate-Palmolive, Philippines, Gold Apple Award for Non-food; Philusa Corporation, Silver Apple Award for Non-food Division; Pascual Laboratories Inc., Bronze Apple Award for Non-food Division; Sunnyphil Inc., Gold Apple Award for Fresh Division; : Freshtrade Enterprises, Silver Apple Award for Fresh Division; Rosario S. Commercial, Bronze Apple Award for Fresh Division; Foodsphere Inc., Gold Apple Award for Processed Food Division; Quan Native Delicacies, Silver Apple Award for Processed Food Division; and The Breadhub, Bronze Apple Award for Processed Food Division.

Special Apple Awards included Best Wellness Advocacy given to Abbott Laboratories; and Excellence in Service Level to Green Cross Incorporated. The Apple Award for Concessionaire of the Year was awarded to The French Baker, while the Apple Award for the Entrepreneur of the Year went to Salinas General Merchandise.

Non-Trade partners were also given recognition for their efficient service. These included Gold Apple Awardee Non-Trade Partner Linear Dynamics Graphics, Inc.; Silver Apple Awardee Non-Trade Partner Stages Design & Construction; and Bronze Apple Awardee Non-Trade Partner POSlink, Asia Inc.

The Apple Award for Credit Card Partner of the Year was given to Metrobank Corporation.

The event was hosted by Luis Manzano and Bianca Valerio. Guests were entertained by song and dance performances from Karylle, Mark Bautista, and Piolo Pascual.
