MANILA, Philippines - The Flower Farm Corporation (TFFC) will hold its 4th country fair from May 1 to 2 in Tagaytay City.
“This year, visitors can look forward to a variety of activities for two days, ranging from creative floral arrangement and gardening lessons, papier mache painting, pottery and crafts,” says TFFC president Ging delos Reyes.
Highlight of the event will be the “Vanishing Scenes” exhibit by the late Lino Severino, the pilot-turned-artist brother of Ging. Severino is recognized for his valuable works, which capture the nostalgia of Negros Occidental’s grand ancestral homes.
Severino captured the memories of Silay, dubbed as the “Paris of Negros,” on canvas, with his nostalgic interpretation of these old homes in their former glory. His best works on canvas, gathered from various collectors, will be on display.
Two new exhibitors are members of the Association of Mouth & Foot Painting Artists and local photo enthusiasts. Though physically handicapped, the Mouth & Foot Painting artists have produced remarkable works of art. They will paint on the spot during the event as well. The Philippines’ most scenic spots shot by local photographers will also be on exhibit.
Visitors can also look forward to shopping in the garden bazaar where a variety of fresh flowers, fruits and vegetables, imported fabrics, garden accessories, and home décor will be available. Specialty food items from the Silay City are also offered. Proceeds will go to the Home for the Aged in Silay City, Negros Occidental. Sumptuous meals from Via Mare will be available all day from 9 a.m. onward.
