Hello to the extreme Xplorer

MANILA, Philippines - Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., one of the world’s leading mobile phone manufacturers, introduces to the Philippines the newest addition to its roster of innovative and stylish phones: the Samsung Xplorer B2100 Xtreme Edition. Equipped with outstanding outdoor features, the Samsung Xplorer boasts not only robust durability and comfortable grip, but also a host of unique and exciting features designed to fit an active outdoor lifestyle.

“The Samsung Xplorer is the perfect companion for consumers who enjoy active outdoor activites or those who just want an everyday durable phone that can give them not only the basics of calling and texting but a few extra features as well,” said Charles Choi, vice president of Samsung Mobile. “With the launch of this phone, Samsung will be able to solidify its position in the outdoor phone market and continue to develop products that excel in durability and usability.”

The Samsung Xplorer is encased in anti-shock urethane material commonly used in sporting goods such as skateboards, which gives the phone the ability to withstand bumps, bangs, scrapes, scuffs, and even dust and water. This phone is also IP57-certified so it can withstand shock, dust, and water of up to one meter of depth for an unbelievable 30 minutes of submersion. Adaptable to the toughest conditions, the Samsung Xplorer is impenetrable to blowing rain, salt fog, and extremely low and high temperatures—a virtually indestructible mobile phone that is compliant with Military Standard 810F.

Aside from its sturdy and resilient shell, the Samsung Xplorer is also equipped with mobile phone features perfect for the outdoors such as loud external speakers and noise cancellation. These eliminate the use of fancy headsets that only hinder movement when engaging in outdoor activities; voice calls from the Samsung Xplorer end will be loud and clear no matter how noisy the background is. Another cool feature is the torch light — definitely brighter than the regular flashlight — which can come in handy wherever and whenever you need additional light.

Also a fully-functioning business phone, the Samsung Xplorer has complete organizing features that include a calendar, To-Do List, alarms, Currency Converter, and a calculator. Its GPRS capabilities will connect users to the Internet for browsing and e-mail. The Samsung Xplorer completes the amazing lineup of features with a 1.3-megapixel camera, FM radio, sound recording, and an impressive expandable memory of up to 4GB.

Samsung is also proud to present the newest users of the Samsung Xplorer: Boom Gonzales, sportscaster, DJ, and active outdoorsman; Jinno Rufino, TV host and sports editor of Uno and Chalk magazines, who engages in water-based sports such as wakeboarding and surfing; Jaymie Pizarro, runner and top blogger; Blue Eagle Justin Chua; and Rovilson Fernandez, TV host, magazine editor, and a finalist in The Amazing Race Asia 2.
