MANILA, Philippines - After an incredibly successful year of throwing some of the hottest bashes on Makati Ave. comes Attica Bar and Restaurant’s first-year anniversary party aptly named Hats Off!
Guests donned their craziest hats and funkiest headgears to enter the venue. In fact, there was a No-Hat, No-Entry rule at the door, which forced partygoers who weren’t informed of the theme to improvise hats made out of newspapers just to get in. “We knew a lot of people were coming but the number of turnout still surprised us,” Attica co-owner Timo Roxas-Chua said. “This party is really a way for us to thank all those who supported us since we opened.”
Guests started coming at 9 p.m., which came as no surprise because even before the event there were already talks of San Mig Light’s Beer for a Buck promo, which was to last from 10 p.m. to 12 midnight. The crowd happily bought beer left and right when the promo officially began at 10. Attica also played its famous Mucho Margarita drinking game, which was hosted by MYX VJ Andrei Felix. Groups of three people had to drink the gigantic Mucho Margaritas as fast as they could — and Attica’s Mucho Margarita cocktail glasses are big enough to hold about four to five servings of a regular-sized drink. One actually needs both hands to carry a single glass, making it the biggest margarita in town!
A little after midnight, Attica launched the Seair Barkada Blowout contest, wherein the group with the most creative hat theme would win a free trip to Boracay! Chris Garcia and his barkada got the judges’ nod after showing up dressed in cleverly designed Native American hats.
The rest of the night was filled with more music and dancing as DJs Chester Canlas and Kris Lau played hip-hop tracks. After throwing countless parties over the past year, this anniversary bash is yet another awesome shindig that only Attica can pull off.
