MANILA, Philippines – Salamat Dok, ABS-CBN’s multi-awarded health and public service program, celebrates its 5th anniversary with a grand health fair today at the ABS-CBN Garden in Quezon City.
The fair features medical products and services, as well as alternative therapy and treatments for indigents and walk-in patients.
The medical services include free circumcision, mole removal, consultation with doctors, massage, tooth extraction, and free denture sizing, among others.
Department of Health director Dr. Anthony Calibo will talk about burgeoning health and wellness tourism, how it helps the Philippine economy, and the great opportunity it affords Filipino health professionals to showcase their skills to the global market.

Tomorrow, Salamat Dok will conduct an outreach medical mission in Malolos, Bulacan. Former Health Secretary Dr. Jaime Galvez-Tan and herb expert Dr. Emil Aligui will discuss the merits of integrating Western or conventional medicine with natural, alternative, and traditional medicine.
Salamat Dok is ABS-CBN’s health and public service program that provides practical and relevant information for the care, treatment, and prevention of various diseases and other health conditions through guest expert-doctors.
To date, Salamat Dok has reaped several awards from prestigious award-giving bodies like the Anak TV Seal 2006, 2007 and 2008, KBP Golden Dove in 2007, 2008 and the USTv Students’ Choice 2008, 2009 as Best Public Service program and 2009 Gawad Tanglaw for Best Public Service Program.
Cheryl Cosim, anchor of Salamat Dok, also garnered the 2008 KBP Golden Dove Award for Best Public Service Program Host.
