The Enterprise Center wins top 'belen' prize in Makati
“Belen sa Makati,” an annual contest of the City Government of Makati, declared The Enterprise Center as the winner of the private sector category as well as the overall winner in ceremonies held at the Makati Municipal Hall on Dec. 16, 2008.
The project, open to all barangays, hotels and office buildings in the area, aimed to promote a festive, traditionally Filipino Christmas atmosphere in the nation’s financial district.
The winning design was inspired by the modern architecture of The Enterprise Center’s building. In full support of the ecological initiatives of the City of Makati, the belen was made of recyclable materials. The inner part of the Blessed Virgin, St. Joseph and the sheep was made of clear plastic reinforced with ordinary wires, more recycled paper and string. The outer part was made up of little pieces of glass meticulously set, creating modern images of the Holy Family during the birth of Jesus.
At the awarding ceremony were The Enterprise Center’s operations manager Gerald Monasterio, events and housekeeping manager Marianne Tirona, Makati City Hall’s First Councilor Junjun Binay, architect Jimmy Lacuesta, and Shang Properties Inc.’s vice president/group property manager Francis Fuellas.
