Homebuyers fall in love with The Venice
Visiting tourists in Venice, Italy, always gush about the city’s old-world architecture and its romantic, if winding, pathways. Many a marriage has resulted from lovers’ proposals along its classic waterways. Imagine if a visitor could take that romance home with him.
Megaworld Corporation opens up that lovely possibility with The Venice, a new development within the 50-hectare township McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio.
“We have carefully designed and planned a Venetian-style luxury residential condominium with avant-garde amenities,” says Megaworld FVP for marketing and project head Noli Hernandez. “The Venice brings back old-world romanticism to be experienced in these modern times.”
Set to rise at The Venice are seven aesthetically distinct residential towers. The first is known as Allesandro. Bright orange and chrome yellow hues are meant to quickly draw the eye to The Venice’s towers. From the sky, each building recalls the uniquely shaped iron head of a gondola or the fèrro.
Equally eye-catching is the three-bedroom model unit meant to entice potential buyers, which adopts the classical elements of the general architecture. The 114-square-meter unit, which is spread over three spacious bedrooms and a balcony, is adorned with intricate moldings, cornices, architraves, and carved wood panels.
“This design echoes elements of Venice — moldings and carvings are the interior design’s way of expressing romanticism,” explains Megaworld interior designer Astrid Cruz. “Venice is a complete city, replete with history, art and culture. Venice is all about romance. It’s a city with music in the air, from the gondoliers as they steer their boats, one can also feel the music.”
Such impressions are also reflected in the ornate furniture pieces, the butter-yellow walls, heavy draperies, and wood panels with beveled mirrors.
Ensuring reverence and faith to their original vision, Megaworld and Italian architectural firm Paolo Marioni Architetto collaborated on the expansive design. This includes a replica of the iconic landmark Rialto Bridge that spans the Grand Canal, where residents can recreate romantic gondola rides. They can also climb the imposing St. Mark’s Tower, another popular landmark replicated, for a better view of the manicured landscape.
Even the entertainment is as extraordinary as an international locale, as its seven towers are ideally integrated with the McKinley Hall Town Center’s Venetian Mall. At the Piazza Grande are stand-up acts and singers. In addition to shopping, visitors can have their pictures taken with the Clock Tower in the background.
While such traditional touches including Italian sculptures of mythological gods line the recreational areas like the swimming pool, they can enjoy more than 20 different amenities representative of modern living and catering to the young and old.
An adult fitness station includes badminton and tennis courts for physical exertion, as well as the sauna or spa to wind down. Even more relaxing are the daily treks to the palm court, meditation garden, garden court, and rock garden. The latter are a virtual haven for those with a green thumb.
“We envision our residents to be very selective in their choices in life,” says Cruz. “Those who are into culture and the arts, the finer things in life, will be at home at The Venice.”
