I, ____________ hereby solemnly swear to use my powers for the betterment of mankind. Life may not be fair and my Facebook status may be fickle, but I choose to focus my energies on what I can do for others in my own supreme way.
I may not be invincible but I am not invisible to the current issues we are facing now. Since I realize that we are all in this together, I resolve to be both a leader and a team player. That’s what made the Justice League a supreme team. Everyone possesses his own power — you just have to channel it. No need for X-ray vision. For some people like Ninoy, all it took were specs and a sharp vision of what one can do and what one can be for his country. Because it is not our race, status in life, religion, sexual preference or political views that dictate how good we can be for others.
Our desire for a better world starts with us. We can weather any storm, go through any crisis, survive blog scandals and breeze through trials — the hero inside us will reign. Wearing the Bench ”I am Ninoy” shirts, I pledge to actively devote time for my loved ones and for my country while also focusing on a better ME. I am currently re-writing history by actively partaking in it. I vow to love Kris Aquino and continue praying for Tita Cory’s health. I pledge to emulate the child-like innocence of Josh and Baby James. While we’re at it, I promise to adhere to Bam Aquino’s path to social entrepreneurship. But we don’t have to be an Aquino to be an icon, a politician, a hero. From Ninoy to Barack, they taught us that it is never too late for change.
Again, I _______________, believe that I am a hero. And my heroism starts now.

Last week, we went to Fiamma — one of our favorite night haunts — and covered Fiamma Fresh Friday’s hip hoppin’ Halloween night. Supreme’s David Milan lifted photos of that night from Facebook accounts, which originated from Sonny Thakur’s fr3shfridays. multiply.com, and were used in our Halloween photo spread last week entitled “Savoring My Coffin Buzz.”
