Amost amazing change recently happened in Morong, Rizal when the IPM Group of Companies headed by its charming and hardworking president Isabelita Paredes Mercado through its member company Basic Environmental Systems and Technologies, Inc. (BEST) represented by SVP Atty. Dwight Ramos did a double heart-warming gesture to its constituents in one historical day. It started off with the closure of its open dumpsite after 40 years of being an environmental hazard, and shortly afterwards, the historical groundbreaking ceremony involving the immediate construction of an Engineered Sanitary Landfill Facility (MESLF). The momentous occasion was graced by Rizal Governor Casimiro “Junjun” Ynares III and hosted by the municipality of Morong led by Mayor Joseph “Jojo” Buenaventura. To become a major bustling city in the near future is now very much a strong possibility for the municipality of Morong.

Here’s a running program supervised by the Mizuno Run Club and developed by triathlete Miguel “Ige” Lopez, for newbies and avid runners alike. Sponsored by Mizuno Philippines through the leadership of BMG CEO Lovell Gopez and marketing manager Paolo Cagalingan, the program is based on time as opposed to distance. According to Ige, time training develops endurance while developing the speed of a runner. When you think about it, it does make sense. If you run three kilometers every day, your running time will eventually decrease but it will also decrease your time of workout. Hence, endurance training is neglected. On the other hand, if you run 30 minutes every day, the distance which you will cover will eventually increase. This means your speed is increasing and you’re developing endurance. Try this program, you’ll never know it might be that first step in winning that marathon. To participate, call 757-3160.
