So you wanna be a Filmmaker?

We hope you’re reading this early.

Orson Welles once said, “Everything you need to know about filmmaking can be learned in two to three days.” The likes of Quentin Tarrantino, Robert Rodriguez, Guy Ritchie, and Chris Nolan did. These four filmmakers, incidentally, would say, specifically, “two days with Dov Simmens.”

Dov, America’s No. 1 film instructor according to the National Association of Film Schools in the US, is in town today and tomorrow to give his famous filmmaking lecture. The crash course condenses four years of film school theory and education; it’s a no-holds-barred, rapid-fire weekend designed for anyone from freshie filmmakers to industry pro’s.

The two-day film school covers marketing, film festivals, distribution deals, foreign sales, cable deals, theatrical revenues, and more — the stuff you don’t get in the university. Dov’s graduates have been honored with nine Oscar nominations, 22 Emmy wins and nominations, and 87 Sundance, Cannes, Toronto, and Raindance entries — their films have grossed more than $6 billion at the box office.

Lectures are today and tomorrow at the Asian Institute of Management Conference Center in Makati. They start at 9 a.m. Students and teachers get special discounts. Contact ThinkCreative at (0905) 3387959 and at thinkcreativeproductions@gmail.com.

If you’re reading this too late, do not fret. Supreme has an exclusive interview with Dov next week!
