Schnauzer news

We recently got a call from Dingdong Raagas about the first Mini Schnauzer Club in the Philippines. I have known Dingdong from way back and he is one guy who has a passion for his Schnauzers.

Dingdong asked me to help him get the news out that the Schnauzer Club has held its first meeting and they plan to have more meetings and activities soon.

Anyway, since I have three Schnauzers at home, I know how Dingdong feels about making sure that the breed gets more exposure.

Here’s his report.

From all corners of Metro Manila, a group of Miniature Schnauzer lovers gathered. It was the first time that such a gathering was held. It happened last Sunday at Eastwood City in Libis. Miniature Schnauzers of various sizes, colors and pedigrees met and had a change to socialize with other Minis and their humans.

Aside from its handsome and aristocrat demeanor, what truly endears the Mini Schnauzer to its owners is its loving, loyal and playful temperament that makes them good pets both for kids and adults alike. The Miniature Schnauzer was recently featured in a medical show as one of the dog breeds that can detect the ailments of their humans.

This initial assembly of MS owners hopes to pave the way for the establishment of the Philippine Miniature Schnauzer club in the country. The "MS eyeball" kicked off with a presentation of special guests Princeton Tan, marketing manager of Vitality Dog Food, and Winston Bragansa of Shield Inc.

Tan presented to the group the type of food that is recommended for the size and activity of the Miniature Schnauzer. He also presented tips, training and counseling as some of the benefits that the new and old owners of MS can get as part of the Philippine Mini Schnauzer club.

Through the years, the family of Miniature Schnauzers has been growing at an impressive rate. Thus, it is one of the visions of the team to ensure that the standards of the breed are protected and improved through a regulating body as represented by the club. The team wishes to enjoin everyone who owns a Miniature Schnauzer or is interested in the breed to be a part of the club. For Mini Schnauzer owners who are interested to join the Philippine Miniature Schnauzer Club, contact Dingdong Raagas of the Raagas Heart Kennel at 807-1207 or 0917-9685409 or e-mail him at raagasheartkennel@hotmail.com.

Here’s wishing that the club grows and that more dog lovers learn to appreciate the value of the Schnauzer.
