Federal Design Expo’s interior designer and store manager Mari Ruiz-Gomez gives some tips on how young couples should shop for furniture: visualize your dream interior and then plan for it; prioritize the pieces you need first, and keep on adding furniture when your budget allows; think long term: it is unwise to buy a piece of furniture (even an inexpensive one), only to outgrow it after a year or two; it is better to buy the best that you can afford, in terms of style, function, and durability.
