STAR writer receives architecture award

Philippine STAR columnist Paulo Alcazaren recently received an award for Profesional of the Year for Landscape Architecture. The award was given on June 21 at the PICC.

The awards are given yearly by the Professional Regulation Commission. One award is given for each of the regulated professions in the Philippines. It is a respected national award given to professionals based on their achievements of the past few years.

Alcazaren was selected for his work in landscape architecture and urban design, which includes completed projects in 14 countries including the landscape master plans for Rockwell Complex and the CCP promenade in Manila; the Hindhede Nature Park, Hong Kah Town redevelopment, Ngee Ann City Plaza, the Britsh Club grounds and others in Singapore; Sahara Lake City in India, resorts and hotels in Myanmar, Vietnam, Malaysia, China and Indonesia among others.

The award was presented by Commissioner Ibe and guest of honor Washington SyCip.
