My favorite getaway

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton -
Among the discerning set, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel remains a favorite escape from a rather harried pace in this bustling city. There is simply nothing like checking into this hotel to feel relaxed and rejuvenated.

The Mandarin has always been one of my favorite places for the sheer delight that I feel, whenever I stay there. The Mandarin is a respite you owe yourself. Nowhere else is there a more cosseting ambience that permeates your system and indulges you! The tastefully appointed surroundings. The rooms. The people. The food. And of course, it’s a premier hotel that has been ranked among the Top 25 hotels in Asia, according to Travel and Leisure magazine.

Let’s begin with the food. From the Brasserie’s buffets, Tin Hau’s Chinese cuisine to Tivoli’s pate and its superb rack of lamb – it’s simply glorious.

Another reason the hotel is above the competition is because of the Mandarin Oriental Club, a posh enclave from the 15th to the 18th floors. The club has a luxuriously appointed lounge perfect for those power meets. With club concierges to minister to the guests’ needs, and complimentary use of any of the three boardrooms, the Mandarin Oriental Club befits the corporate leader.

There are quite a number of reasons why the Mandarin remains at the top of my list. But at the end of the day, one might say the Mandarin never feels like just another hotel, but a plush hideaway that indulges the senses, making for an absolutely relaxing and totally delicious time for yourself. Trust me.
