Get Asia On-Line

What happens when you launch a new website on a Friday night? You get an extraordinarily jampacked party! Hundreds of the city’s denizens trooped to the Republic of Malate recently to celebrate the evolution of Localvibe.com into GetAsia.com.ph.
What is GetAsia.Com.ph? It’s the slickest, most interesting way to view Manila through the Internet. The site is actually the second coming of Localvibe.com after being acquired by GetAsia.com, Asia’s premier website network.
The launch was set into motion by high energy VJ Mike Zerrudo and featured performances from Bo Razon and Puro Ritmo, Grace Nono, Brownman Revival, Pinkpikan and Ugoy-Ugoy. It was like going around the world through different sounds, beats and music without moving from your spot on the dance floor. The mood was Latina and tropical music one minute then ethnic and folk, the next. And much later it was jazz and reggae.
It came as no surprise, after all, GetAsia.com is all about diversity. The site offers 11 different channels from arts to sports and even sex & relationships, providing a broad perspective on the active, urban lifestyle. It’s about getting and seeing the best facets of the city with the click of your mouse.
GetAsia.com is managed by Miguel "Chuck" Syjuco (editor-in-chief), Bernice Arsenas (marketing manager), Jet Lacson (sales manager), Aye Navarro (IT manager) and Dennis Javier (sales manager). They were all on hand to party and make sure everyone was having a great time. GetAsia COO John Mims and CEO Kenny Felberbaum were also there.
VJ Mike had a wonderful time giving out great prizes to lucky guests. And winning was a breeze for the participants since all they had to do was answer the trivia questions about GetAsia.com and were instantly rewarded with cool computer items from Microsoft, Intel, games from Macromedia, two Smart Cellular phones and a hip CD writer from Hewlett Packard.
Logging on to the fun were BNBK’s Teddy and Janine Dario, NU 107’s Atom Henares, Pulp magazine’s Vernon Go, Karen Kunawicz, Chalk magazine’s Romina Urra, eventologist Tim Yap, Miko Pascual of BAT and Smart’s Miles Innocentes
If you need information about your city, click on to GetAsia.com.ph and check out the extensive directories for movie theaters, bars, hotels, restaurants and other leisure related establishments or join the discussion boards to post your views about featured places and events. And don’t miss the popular who’s who section where pictures of the city’s hottest faces are displayed.
The GetAsia.com party was presented by Smart Zed and BPI Express Online in cooperation with Sauza Zaz and Nestea and supported in part by PULP, NU107, Joey@Rhythms 92.3, People Asia, YS Online, Femalenetwork.com, WSI, Intel, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, The Philippine Star and Jade Internet.
