MANILA, Philippines — Exactly a month after inaugurating its showroom in Camarines Sur, FOTON showed more of its aggressiveness in network expansion as it officially opened FOTON Marilao last August 17. Led by United Asia Automotive Group Inc. (UAAGI), the exclusive distributor of FOTON vehicles in the country, the dealership was officially awarded to Frontier Automotive Marilao Corporation (FAM-C).
FOTON Marilao Dealer Principal Ken Trajano said, “This is our first automotive dealership. Our group’s core competency was industrial plastic manufacturing. However, our company has already been using FOTON’s light-duty trucks for our deliveries and apparently, the vehicles were really efficient and dependable that’s why we decided to put up our own FOTON dealership.”
Located along MacArthur Highway, the 2,800sqm facility harbors the dealership’s vehicle showroom, parts, service center and stockyard. It also houses a total of 10 service bays: five for FOTON’s passenger vehicles and five more for the Tornado light-duty trucks.
“At first, what we wanted to focus on were light-duty trucks (LDT), and when it comes to that product segment, FOTON is one of the top manufacturers of commercial vehicles and emerging automotive brand in the Philippines,” Trajano added.
“We’re fortunate because aside from the LDT’s, FOTON also gave us the opportunity to venture on more product segments such as passenger vehicles, heavy duty trucks, heavy equipment and its latest addition, the FOTON Gratour series.” he noted.
Moreover, UAAGI and FOTON Philippines President Rommel Sytin said, “The establishment of FOTON Marilao amplifies our commitment to make FOTON closer to more Filipino families and businesses in Central Luzon. In addition, our team also aims to provide notable ownership experiences as we consider it equally important with our unit sales.”
Sytin also pointed out the strong potential in the government’s Jeepney Modernization Program that can be capitalized by FOTON. He proudly announced, “FOTON Philippines will participate in this new program that would encourage and support the use of eco-friendly public utility vehicles (PUV).”
FOTON Marilao Dealer Principal Michael Mancilla added, “The brand has a great potential and wide market reach here in our province. Apart from the continuous emergence of industrial units in Bulacan, the development of infrastructures and new transport sectors will also benefit from our dealership.”
Also highlighting the momentous event was FOTON Philippines’ donation of a brand new FOTON Gratour Patrol Jeep to the Province of Bulacan. “This vehicle serves as our support to the local government of Bulacan to further strengthen its response to emergency and police operations,” said Sytin.
With a grateful heart, Bulacan Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado said, “I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to the management of FOTON; first, for choosing Bulacan as the location of this state-of-the art passenger and commercial vehicle showroom and second, for supporting our programs through the donation of the patrol vehicle. As we are armed with the same goal, we will remain partners in sustaining order, growth and success.”
Dubbed as “The Gateway to the Northern Philippines,” the province of Bulacan is progressively becoming industrialized due to its proximity to Metro Manila. Industrial plants and business units in food processing, agribusiness, construction, transport services and real estate development accelerate the province’s economic development.
“We commit to work hand in hand with FOTON Marilao. We will keep on empowering more businesses here and all over the Philippines.”
