MANILA, Philippines — Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC), in celebration of Mitsubishi’s 100 years of innovation, held a one-of-a-kind free-admission anniversary expo at the World Trade Center last June 8-11. The grand expo highlighted a special exhibit which gave a glimpse into the rich history and legacy of Mitsubishi – including a showcase of some of Mitsubishi’s historic and iconic cars, shipped over to Manila all the way from the Mitsubishi Auto Gallery in Okazaki, Japan. Among them were the 1937 Race (Circuit Car); 1985 Paris-Dakar Rally winner Pajero #189; WRC Lancer 2005; and the Outlander PHEV – winner of the 2015 Baja Rally.

Present during the media program on opening day were MMPC President and CEO Yoshiaki Kato; EVP, Treasurer and CFO Hirofumi Shibata; EVP for Marketing Shigeru Ogura; Senior Adviser Taichi Nakajima; and FVP for Vehicle Sales & Marketing Froilan Dytianquin – who all took the opportunity to share their insights about the legendary three-diamond brand and its impressive evolution since the manufacture of its first-ever car – the Mitsubishi Model A – when the company was still named Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Company back in 1917.

It was also during this media program that the Mitsubishi executives presented their company’s donation of P1,000,000 to GMA Kapuso Foundation, towards the CSR project of building a bridge for the town of Iraya in Camarines Sur, where children have to struggle to cross a river in order to get to their school on the other side of the bank.

The Mitsubishi 100 Years Anniversary Expo ran from 10am-9pm each day (except for the first day, when it was open to the public starting at 12nn), and also featured a complete showcase of its current vehicle lineup available in the Philippines – including their buses and Fuso trucks.

It was an especially advantageous event for people looking to buy Mitsubishi vehicles, as potential customers were given the chance to test drive the new Montero Sport, Strada, Pajero and Mirage, after signing up at the test-drive booth at the venue. Moreover, as a special treat, curious visitors also had the opportunity to sign up for a test drive of Mitsubishi’s pure electric vehicle—the iMiE—as well as the Outlander Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle (PHEV).

For those looking for a more comparative experience to help them make up their minds about choosing which vehicle to buy, Mitsubishi also provided for an opportunity for them to test and compare the Montero Sport against the competition – to affirm their confidence in the Mitsubishi product, and to help them remember the class-leading features of the Montero Sport, which sets it apart from other brands.

Adding more excitement to the festivities were live band and DJ performances, a special meet-and-greet with Mirage brand ambassadors Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, and a program hosted by comedian and long-time Mitsubishi fan – Ramon Bautista. Even children had their own kiddie zone where they could play with their favorite characters from Nickelodeon’s Paw Patrol and participate in fun games.

For the more ‘artsy’ people, Mitsubishi brought in renowned artist Fernando Sena, to share his art techniques at a special area within the venue last Sunday. Furthermore, interested drivers had the opportunity to sign up for and participate in a Safety and Driving Etiquette Seminar during the expo.

And as one of the top incentives MMPC offered the public during the 100-year Anniversary Expo, customers who visited and registered were entitled to receive a P10,000 registration discount coupon. This coupon could be used towards the purchase of a new Mitsubishi vehicle, and will be applied on top of the ongoing Mitsubishi Retail Promo that is currently being offered across all dealerships nationwide. Visitors who opted to test drive any Mitsubishi vehicle during the expo also qualified for an additional P10,000 discount coupon. And for owners of older vehicles who are looking at purchasing new units, there was a vehicle trade-in partner at the Expo who could appraise any old vehicle (Mitsubishi or non-Mitsubishi) and offer that value as credit towards purchasing a new Mitsubishi vehicle! And since it was an occasion of celebrating, MMPC also provided as much as P30,000 additional incentive of the appraised value, for their prospective customers to enjoy.

Customers who decided to place a reservation for a Mitsubishi vehicle during the event also got an exclusive chance to participate in the Lucky Drop Pachinko game, which had, up for grabs, a chance to win up to P50,000 credit towards their purchase. And all these incentives (gathered from the Expo) are applicable to all regular vehicle purchase transactions – whether by cash or via financing – until August 11, 2017.

And as if that weren’t enough, MMPC is also conducting a P100,000 Anniversary Giveaway Promo, wherein MMPC will be giving away P100,000 to 10 lucky buyers of new Mitsubishi vehicles, from June 8 – July 31, 2017. These 10 winners will be chosen, as follows, per geographic region: 4 winners from NCR; 3 winners from Luzon (outside NCR); and 3 winners from Vis-Min. The way it works is that all customers who had completed their purchase transactions anytime from June 8-July 31 earns electronic raffle entries. One raffle entry is earned for every P100,000 spent on the vehicle purchase; prizes are non-transferrable and winners will be notified via registered mail, an official phone call and an email notification.

Congratulations to Mitsubishi for its 100 years of successful innovation!
