MANILA, Philippines - Strengthening its commitment to Philippine Sports Development and helping build the country’s future ice athletes, SM Skating and the Philippine Skating Union (PhSU) host the 2017 Philippine International Figure Skating Camp from May 20 to 30, 2017 at SM Skating Seaside City Cebu.

Members of the Philippine National Figure Skating Team and top skaters across Southeast Asia join the on-ice and off-ice activities of the international training camp which aims to enhance the skaters’ technical skills and overall quality of performance. To deliver the best program for the skaters, the PhSU brings in Russian figure skating coaches Sergei Dudakov and Dansiil Gleichengaus for the 10-day skating camp, to be assisted by Philippine National Figure Skating Team Head Coaches, Alexey Fedorov & Maria Safonova.

Dudakov’s career highlights include a gold in the 1989 Golden Spin of Zagreb competition and finishing as a two-time Piruetten champion from 1990 to 1991. Joining Dudakov is Gleichengaus, who made his international debut in the 2011 NRW Trophy in Germany. After retiring from competitions, Gleichengaus began coaching and is now part of the team of two-time World and European figure skating champion, Evgenia Medvedeva.

Asian Junior Figure Skating Challenge Gold medalist Gabby Panlilio and two-time Philippine Figure Skating Championship gold medalist Jules Alpe join the 20 figure skaters from the Philippines and neighboring Southeast Asian countries in the 10-day training camp in Cebu.
