Owl Coffee brings Singapore's best brew to Phl
MANILA, Philippines – Owl, the Singapore’s leading coffee and tea brand, has landed in the country with its promise of bringing a new brew to keep Filipinos awake and kicking.
Transaxion Unlimited, the exclusive importer and distributor of Owl in the Philippines, has unveiled Owl to the local media in a glitzy affair hosted by top jock Tony Toni of Magic 89.9's popular Boy's Night Out radio show at the Cocoon uBotique hotel in Timog, Quezon City last week.
“Owl has been brewing fine coffee since 1956. Its longevity and market success is a testament to its vast expertise and attention to detail in making the perfect coffee brew,†said Kerwin Wong, CEO of Transaxion Unlimited.
“Owing to its unique location along the straits of Malacca between Java and Penang, Owl is in the heart of one of the best coffee growing regions in the world. With Owl, you’re going to enjoy a great cup of coffee each and every time,†Wong added.
The well-attended media launch was also graced by Robert Francisco, a renowned Coffeology Expert and Coffee Connoisseur. In a coffee talk with the local media, Francisco revealed interesting facts among them is that the coffee bean, the primary ingredient to make coffee granules, has lots of varieties such as Robusta, Arabica, Excelsa, Liberica among others which has their own unique flavor and aroma. He also presented an elaborate process on how instant coffee is made from the picking of the ripe cherries to a hot cup of coffee.
Mona Chua, Transaxion Unlimited's Vice President for Marketing, got hooked by Owl herself that’s why bringing the brand to the country was a no-brainer.
“I drink coffee every day and any brand will do to start my day. But this has changed. I have never been so passionate about coffee until I have tasted OWL Coffee. The first time I got to taste OWL KOPITIAM Roast coffee was from a friend who came home from a Singapore vacation. I never thought that an instant 3 in 1 coffee can be so good! From then on, I became hooked to its taste,†Chua said.
Owl Coffee comes in several variants such as Everyday Favorites 3-in-1 Strong, and 3-in-1 Regular Low Fat for diet conscious individuals. They also have the Kopitiam Roast selection deriving its distinct taste from Singapore’s coffee shop culture that includesKopi Siew Dai with Less Sugar, and Kopi-C which features evaporated milk as its creamer giving a creamy smooth taste. Next in line is the Nanyang White Coffee line. Known for its strong, robust flavor without the bitter aftertaste, Owl’s White Coffee is sweetened with coconut sugar for a unique aromatic blend. For those who are not too fond of coffee, Owl has its Teh Tarik (Milk Tea) and Ginger Tea with Honey great for a soothing morning and afternoon beverage.
“As partner of OWL Coffee in the Philippines, we are so happy and proud to bring another good product to the Filipino consumers. I encourage everyone to try all the flavors and enjoy your own OWL coffee experience,†said Chua.
To bring Owl to the national consciousness and to the discerning taste of the Filipino coffee enthusiasts, Transaxion Unlimited has kicked off a road show that started at the end of February where employees of the US Embassy along Roxas Boulevard were treated to a day with Owl Coffee and Tea and another sampling at the LKG Tower last March 14.
The "Owl Made Me Do It" caravan will be touring Quezon, Makati, and Pasig City business districts up until May 2014 bringing people together for their common love of coffee. The campaign aims to show that with renewed energy and vitality through drinking Owl, people can achieve more success in the workplace.
