Slurp in style: Coca-Cola, 7-Eleven present 'Bring Your Own Cup Day'
MANILA, Philippines -- The summer season might be over, but Coca-Cola and 7-Eleven are not yet done in spreading that summer vibe.
Coca-Cola, in partnership with 7-Eleven, brings to Philippines the first ever “Bring Your Own Cup Day,†where Slurpee lovers out there could enjoy their beverage in their own unique way.
When they say unique, they mean by bringing your own container where you would want to enjoy your favorite drink.
(L-R) Eric Montenola, Key Accounts Director for Coca-Cola FEMSA; Victor Paterno, President and CEO of Philippine Seven Corporation; and Atty. Adel Tamano, Vice-President for Public Affairs and Communications of Coca-Cola Philippines kickoff the “Bring Your Own Cup Day†campaign during the media launch
This event started in Australia last 2011 as a kickoff for the summer season. The following year, Malaysia was invaded by this one-day craze, which is now in the Philippines.
As Coca-Cola Philippines’ Vice-President for Public affairs and Communications Atty. Adel Tamano said, this one-day event “will give you a new refreshing experience.â€
So how will this work?
You have to be creative! Bring with you any container, which is different from the usual paper cup that they use in serving Slurpee.
But of course, they have rules as to what container may be used: it should fit in the “MaCUPangyarihang Bilog,†hygienic, watertight, and fixed in size and shape.
Once your container passed these standards, pay Php29.00 over the counter and you could now fill your container to the brim, provided that you won’t spill anything.
Aside from giving you the freedom to bring your own creative container, Coca-Cola makes it more special by launching as well a new drink flavor: raspberry.
“Bring Your Own Cup Day†will happen on Nov. 7, in all 7-Eleven stores nationwide. But they have one warning for all participants: Brainfreeze may occur.
