MANILA, Philippines – The developer of Manila Ocean Park and Hotel H20, and the Busan Metropolitan Corporation have recently forged a partnership to develop the East Busan Aquaworld, which is envisioned to become the premier icon of Busan in South Korea.
Representatives of Manila Ocean Park and Busan Metropolitan Corporation signed a memorandum of agreement to become partners in the endeavor at the Pacific Function Room of the Manila Ocean Park last Aug. 1.
Essentially, the East Busan Aquaworld proposed a 3E concept as a blend of an ecological, entertaining and holistic resort living coupled with interactive activities with marine mammals as well as an educational appreciation of the underwater world.
The layout of the project is designed as a resort that boasts of open spaces and a beautiful interior atrium that fills the poolside area with warm tropical breezes and a panoramic view of the expansive East Sea. Exclusively situated in a new township of East Busan, Aquaworld is the only resort surrounded on three sides by the view of the brilliant turquoise East Sea.
The corporate mission of Aquaworld is to create the buzz in the daily lifestyle from an ordinary to an extraordinary and a fantastic urban leisure life. It is envisage that the project will serve to enrich and upgrade the zealousness for life through self-discovery activities and a passion for a total well-being through the fun and relaxation among marine life.
The developers of Manila Ocean Park and Hotel H2O put up Gold Sea Korea Investment Co., Lt. to undertake the development of East Busan Aquaworld. Mr. Luke Jeong, an experienced curator formerly with the Busan Aquarium and Coex Aquarium in Seoul, and who had vast exposure working in overseas ocean parks, is the General Manager of the Gold Sea Korea, whose office is located in downtown Busan and is manned by all local Korean personnnel.
The Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Lim Chee Yong is a visionary leader, who has an extensive experience in the development, operation and management of ocean parks in China as well as managing theme park cum hotels in the Philippines. He is also the President and CEO of Manila Ocean Park and Hotel H2O.
The topography of Aquaworld is that it sits on a flatland with undulating terrain which makes the project design a challenge yet it will flow with the harmony of the landscape. The vantage point of the project is that it has an unobstructed view of the sea and the lush greenery. The appeal of Aquaworld is inevitably its project concept of an integrated leisure cum a luxurious resort style living in a sprawling complex, which is nestled on a hilly terrain overlooking the East Sea.
