MANILA, Philippines — Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray loves eating or pulling up a book to read as ways of looking after herself.

The host-beauty queen attended a soda event held in Bonifacio Global City last January 18 where she answered a series of self-care questions pertaining to given situations.

After a long day at work, Catriona said she would treat herself to her favorite dish, "I am such a foodie and I love treating myself to food especially when I can bring a friend para chumika."

When feeling overwhelmed or stressed, Catriona said she'd take a walk in the park if there was one near her so instead she'd listen to calming music.

"I find my choice of music reflects my mood, usually I'll start my day with either worship music or a folk-acoustic playlist," she said, but encouraged others to find whatever self-care fits their situations.

Catriona said all the options for recharging her social battery after several nights out — reading a good book, alone time with tea, and catching up on sleep — were applicable to her being an introvert.

She ultimately settled on reading a book, sharing that she hit her goal of 50 books last year including audiobooks and is currently reading Audrey Niffenegger's "The Time Traveler's Wife."

"It's like watching a movie where you want to escape to wherever your book is set," Catriona said of reading alone. "As an introvert, any time spent on your own to recharge is good."

Finally as a solution for too much screentime, the host-beauty queen said she would spend time with her pet dogs Theo and Bailey, giving them unlimited belly rubs.

Catriona ended by admitting she needs to make a coherent decision to put away her phone, acknowledging others have may have to work on their phone but advised having boundaries could still help.
