MANILA, Philippines — Organization JCI Manila is hosting the Electric Night Run for Hope this May 18 at Filinvest, Alabang.

Aiming for the participation of up to 8,000 runners, the event will raise funds for the improvement and expansion of the Night Shelter of Hospicio De San Jose.

The shelter in Manila serves as an overnight refuge for homeless individuals and families.

All proceeds from the this year's Electric Night Run for Hope will be dedicated to the construction and renovation of transitory homes, providing essential shelter and stability to those in need.

There are four distances for runners to take part it — 1 km, 3 km, 5 km, and 10 km — all starting at 9 p.m.

In the lead up to the event, JCI Manila has been getting promotional help from the likes of Chito Miranda, Karylle, Enzo Pineda, and Nicole Borromeo.

Last year JCI Manila managed to gather 4,000 runners for a morning-set Color Run for Education, raising funds to construct school buildings for Monic Elementary School.
