Jessy Mendiola star-struck with in-laws Vilma Santos, Edu Manzano
MANILA, Philippines — Although she is a star herself, Jessy Mendiola admitted that she also gets intimidated, especially when it comes to her in-laws, actors Vilma Santos and Edu Manzano.
Jessy was among the panelists at the recently concluded Watsons Health Expo 2024 held in SM Megamall. She underwent a lie detector test where she almost aced all the questions.
When she was asked if she got intimidated by Luis' family, she immediately said yes.
"Siyempre, sino ba namang hindi ma-intimidate, 'di ba? Star for All Seasons, si Ms. Vilma Santos, and of course, si Tito Edu Manzano. Talagang showbiz royalty," Jessy replied.
Vilma is bestowed with the moniker, "Star for All Seasons." She and Edu were married in the 1980s and gave birth to Luis.
"So when I met them, I was like, wala na akong masabi. Sabi ko na lang po, 'Ang ganda n'yo, Ms. Vilma'," Jessy recalled.
Jessy only has kind words for her parents-in-law.
"They were both super warm," Jessy said of her first impression when she first met them. "They're the kindest people I've ever met. The moment they started talking to me, nawala 'yung intimidating feeling. Sa simula lang pala 'yun kasi 'di ba sa showbiz, like what I've said, showbiz royalties sila. Talagang big stars. Both very, very kind people."
Jessy said that although she is close to both, she gets to bond more with Vilma, whom she calls "momskie."
"Both e. I think, mas kay Momskie kasi beauty secrets, mga newest in fashion and, of course, 'yung mga content creating. Minsan tinuturuan namin si Momskie. May YouTube channel siya.
