MANILA, Philippines — Host-actor Robi Domingo had a bittersweet wedding day to his non-showbiz partner Maiqui Pineda after learning his grandmother Lydia Garcia-Eusebio passed away on the same day.
A few days after the wedding, Domingo shared on his social media accounts how he learned about his grandmother's passing right after the Filipiniana-themed wedding.

"My mom was sobbing as she tried to tell me that my Lola passed away that same morning. Apparently, my family didn't tell us so that our focus was our magical day," Domingo said.
The photos he posted were one of his younger self with his "Inang Liling" and of he and Pineda standing by Lydia's casket.
Domingo then paid tribute to his grandmother who took care of him when he was very young and made him her Ube Halaya and Leche Flan sa Llanera.
The host-actor also shared he had wanted to express his gratitude to people during the wedding, however, the news of his grandmother's death caused a slight delay and his family just needed to take a breather.
Among those who offered their condolences were Melai Cantiveros-Francisco, Darren Espanto, Martin Nievera, John Prats, Jhong Hilario, Chito Miranda, Vina Morales, and Carmi Martin.
As bittersweet the day was, Domingo said because of the wedding, his "heart was filled with immense gratitude — from preps in the morning, to the ceremony, to the reception which lasted until dawn."
Domingo and Pineda began dating in 2018 and were engaged four years later, tying the knot last January 6 in Diocesan Shrine and Parish of San Isidro Labrador in Pulilan, Bulacan and a reception in North Polo Club.
