MANILA, Philippines — TV host Vice Ganda earned the nod of many internet users when he shared his take on starting a family in one of the segments of the popular noontime show "It's Showtime."
The opinionated host was giving advice to the featured guests in the segment "Expecially for You" yesterday.
Vice and his co-hosts Ogie Alcasid and Jhong Hilario were sharing their own dating/relationship advice.
Vice talked about being honest, especially when it comes to splitting or paying the bill when a couple goes out on dates. He shared that it's okay for the couple to split or that it is better to be honest with each other when they cannot afford to splurge for the date.
Their conversation took a turn when Jhong discussed the initial phase, when the couple tries to impress each other.
Vice Ganda interjected that this should not be the case when the couple decides to start a family.
"'Pag gagawa ka ng pamilya, 'pag wala kang pera, 'wag kang gumawa ng pamilya. 'Yun lang 'yun," he stressed.
"Sorry this opinion might offend other people pero kung wala kang pera, 'wag kang gumawa ng pamilya dahil kawawa lalong-lalo na kung may iluluwal kang batang hindi mo mapapakain nang maayos," Vice explained.
The TV host reiterated this nugget of wisdom about being able to support or provide financially for oneself before starting a family.
He argued that a person is solely responsible for himself. The responsibility of taking care of oneself lies solely on the individual, not on other people or the government.
“At the end of the day, ikaw ang sasalba sa sarili mo. Hindi ibang tao, ni hindi gobyerno. Ikaw," Vice said.
