MANILA, Philippines — Beauty queen Catriona Gray shared how she has managed stress and anxiety amid the global pandemic.
"It’s caused me anxiety, because I’ve been away from my family for the most of the pandemic. Then there's our interrupted work, some canceled or postponed projects, that gave me that anxious feeling and stress," Gray opened up during the press conference of Myra E's Miss Beauty ng Emmunity campaign, wherein Catriona was recently introduced as the brand's new celebrity ambassador.
Miss Universe 2018 revealed her personal tricks to address stress: "I find music that really allows me to relax, or be with my dogs. It's really those simple things that are really achievable for me that have given me that positive headspace."
The pandemic also gave her more time to dive into more introspection, which she suggested is a great thing to do to be able to love yourself more.
"Take the time to learn about yourself, like your skin, your body, your system. We all have different skin types. We are more prone to something compared to others, and our health are affected by many things. Like when I breakout, I take the time to know why. Also with my sleeping patterns, I figure out how can I give myself a better chance to have a better sleep at night," she said.
She also noted that it's important to "make sure that you have the fuel that your body needs by getting proper sleep."
"I'm a master napper. I sleep whenever I can. When it comes to food, I don't always have the time to prepare homecooked meals, so I take supplements," Cat shared, saying she's been taking Myra-E for the past 10 years.
"It's great when a brand you've been personally using tapped you to be their endorser," she said.
She also shared that she is suffering from scoliosis, so pilates and exercising have also helped her improve her overall body and mental health.
Cat also noted that addressing stress this pandemic is about making sure you don't get caught up in the "comparison trap" on social media.
"Even the most succesful people are caught in that comparison trap. I also find myself comparing myself to other people because of social media, because that's so easy to. And it's leading us into that negative headspace. You just have to constantly remind yourself that you should not compare your everyday reality to someone's highlighted reel," she advised.
"Give yourself grace when you feel like you are not in the place you thought you’d be in the past two years because of the pandemic. That's fine. We all are."
