MANILA, Philippines — Radio disc jockey Nicole Hyala turned emotional upon recalling the recent near-death experience of her daughter, Princess.

In her recent video blog on her YouTue channel, Nicole, together with husband Renly Tinana, opened up about her daughter's bout against viral encephalitis or inflammation of the brain.

Princess spent a month in the hospital with her unexpected condition.

"Nagulat kami kasi akala namin lagnat lang, 'yun pala brain inflammation. Actually napakarami naming tanong, 'Bakit si Princess? Bakit ganoon?' And it was really painful to see her there," she said.

Nicole turned to their faith after Princess showed no sign of regression. Fortunately, Princess showed signs of recovery a day after.

"God gave us a miracle. And every day, she started recovering. Every day, may bagong development sa kanya," she said.

Of course, meron kaming ginagawa para sa sakit niya, but we do not want to attribute itong paggaling niya sa paggawa namin. We attribute it to God."

Renly said that their hospital bill reached P2.3 million but they only paid P39,000 as the rest was covered by their insurance.

Lord, thank you," Renly said.

— Video from Nicole Hyala via YouTube
