MANILA, Philippines — Through proper nutrition, school children and youths are able to perform better and eventually achieve their goals in life. To help students, school administrators, and parents realize the important role of nutrition to education, Vitamilk launched the Kalusugan para sa Kinabukasan School Caravan.
The initiative, which is an interactive learning session, is currently making the rounds in 100 schools in Central and South Luzon, since its launch in July in time for Nutrition Month.
In the school caravan, lively discussions, video presentations on health, and product samplings are held. A Freedom Wall is also turned over for students to express their life goals.
The Vitamilk Kalusugan para sa Kinabukasan School Caravan hopes to encourage students, particularly adolescents, to observe a well-balanced diet. The program also introduces the health benefits of drinking soymilk regularly, like Vitamilk.
Another objective of the caravan is to promote a healthy lifestyle among school communities.
Through its many activities such as an educational quiz bee focused on health and nutrition, as well as “nutrition talks” with parents, the caravan hopes to communicate how health is essential to the future of the youth.
The importance of nutrition
The initiative was launched at a crucial time for students in the Philippines.
Recent studies have shown that a significant number of school children are undernourished, even malnourished. This is compounded by their tendency to make unhealthy food choices.

Since many children and adolescents spend most of their time in school, teachers and administrators are in a particularly advantageous position to remedy the problem. Aside from sharing the message of proper nutrition, they can also help by making healthy food available within school premises.
By showing them how better nutrition can help them achieve their own goals and dreams, Vitamilk hopes that more students will take matters into their own hands in terms of good health.
The brand hopes to share the message that good food is not only for better health but also for better futures.
Soymilk for a balanced diet
One of the solutions to the dilemma of undernourished children and teens is the incorporation of various food groups that are high in nutritional value, such as soymilk.
Vitamilk, for example, is a great alternative to sodas and other sugary drinks.
Low in calories and fat, it is mainly protein, which is a great building block for strong muscles. It even has a few grams of fiber which benefits the digestive system.

Apart from protein that strengthens muscles, it also has B-vitamins for energy, Omega 3, 6, and 9 for brain development, plus other vitamins and minerals that are beneficial for the body and mind.
Vitamilk comes in 300ml bottles, 250ml tetra packs, 1 liter tetra packs, and 200ml returnable glass bottles.
