Giselle Sanchez: How to be 40 with 25-inch waistline
MANILA, Philippines — Comedian Giselle Sanchez is now in her 40’s, but she said her size is still as small as her 14-year-old daughter, and she has been able to maintain a 24- to 25-inch waistline. How does she do it?
In an interview with Philstar.com, Giselle revealed that she eats anything but makes sure her entire meal – from rice, to meat and dessert – is only fist-sized.
“Because if you close your fist, that’s just the size of your stomach, it’s scientifically proven,” she assured.
She does not eat meat every day, “but wagyu is really great,” she said.
Giselle is among the guests at the recent opening of Miyazaki Gyu, which claims to be the first Japanese restaurant in the country that specializes in Miyazaki wagyu, said to be Japan's number 1 A5 beef. Located in One McKinley Place in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, the restaurant is led by Chef Kensuke Sakai, reportedly the youngest contestant to appear on hit reality TV show “Iron Chef.”
While Giselle takes everything in moderation, she advised to avoid sugar as she considers it “the root of all evil,” including diabetes and heart attack.
“I’ve known so many people who have suffered, had angioplasty, stem operations and stuff. Ang dami ko na ring nakitang namatay na in their 40’s because of heart and cholesterol problems,” she fretted.
Besides having a healthy diet, she underscored the importance of regular exercise.
“And then once you’re above 30 years old, kailangan mong mag-exercise every day for 30 minutes, exercise na mapapawisan ka. Pwede ka maglinis ng bahay, pwede ka mag-jogging, basta ‘yung mapapawisan ka. And it’s good for your heart,” she enthused.
She, however, clarified that she has been doing such measures not just for vanity or show business.
“The reason that I do this is for my children. I have a 14-year-old and an eight-year-old and I wanna see them grow up. I probably wanna see them when they have kids. I wanna see my grandkids.” — Video by EC Toledo IV
