Mother's Day diet: Kris Aquino shares how she stays size 4

MANILA, Philippines — Multimedia star Kris Aquino admitted in a recent interview with select press, including Philstar.com, that she aims to maintain a size 4 — in the top, at least.

“Bilang na bilang talaga,” the actress said of her food.

“What works for me is portion control. I eat what I like pero portion-controlled tapos hiyang talaga ako sa fish. Parang ang meat ko is a treat, so it’s two to three times a week kasi I’m also anemic, so my doctor ko sinabi may beef consumption, may iron dapat.”

She knows taking iron is important for optimal health, but she insists to get it from food and not supplements.

“Iron, importante. Kasi matigas ulo ko, gusto n’ya (doctor) na mag-iron tablets ayoko talaga. Feeling ko nakakataba. So, sinabi n’ya let’s compromise. You have to eat lean cuts of meat.”

She, nonetheless, admitted that she also defies her caloric-restriction diet every now and then.

“And then ano, s’yempre tao ka lang, hahanapin talaga ng katawan mo mag-bacon. So once a week, you can’t help but have a BLT or you want carbonara with ano (bacon),” she enthused. — Video by EC Toledo IV
