The power of the Subconscious

FROM THE HEART - Gina Lopez - The Philippine Star
The power of the Subconscious

Do we really have free will? When impulses push us to do things or reactions surface and we find ourselves doing things we later regret, during those times, was free will involved? Free will is “free” because one can choose. You can see the situation clearly, unfettered by misguided notions.

The reality is that the situations life exposes us to leave imprints in our subconscious. Trauma experienced in childhood or as we’re growing up influence the way we see things and how we react to situations. We think we have moved on and maybe we have, but the traumatic situations inevitably leave imprints on a deeper level.

Part of moving forward is releasing the charges in our subconscious. Otherwise they will continue to be a heavy weight. They will affect the joy we experience; they will lead us to see situations in a way that causes pain, anger and disharmony.

For example, I know of a couple who loved each other deeply. However, the girl would get extremely jealous when her partner would leave the house. During an IST session (Inner Space Technology), it was discovered that when she was five her father abandoned her, and the trauma resulted in a deep fear of being left behind.

Decades later, this gripping, uncontrollable fear of being left behind still colors the situations in her life. So she had an IST session, went through the pain — the wound — of abandonment and allowed herself to feel the healing embrace of the Divine.

We don't move forward by shelving things aside, deadening and closing off our hearts, which often happens because of the pain. With help we need to allow ourselves to feel the pain that’s there. Closing ourselves to the pain is also closing ourselves to God’s love, which holds in the midst of the pain.

Life is meant to be traveled with co-travelers. Surrounded by our loved ones, we should allow ourselves to feel pain so that we can also feel the healing. IST practitioners are trained to do that — to connect to a higher space so that the healing can flow. You can learn how to do that, too.

There are two upcoming workshops that can teach you: a seven-day IST (Inner Space Technique) workshop from May 21-27 at the Holy Spirit Mission Service Center, Tagaytay City; and an Awakening the Third Eye  workshop (ATE) from May 19-20  and Oct. 20-21. Both workshops will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For information, call Francisco Quilas at 0917-621-2159 or email frankquilas@gmail.com; and Sarah Bulan at 0917-878-0499 or email smbulan@abs-cbnfoundation.com.

I recommend that you call up Frank and schedule a session with him so you can get a feel of the process of delving into your subconscious.

The shackles on who we are are emotional and spiritual, not physical. Being free of these is our way to freedom. To go through this process, one needs humility, guts, and also to let go.

No matter the situation, we can’t carry dead weight forever. What’s done is done. People are who they are; situations are what they are. Life is a process that we must go through.

We go through it and let go. Keep the light shining brightly in our hearts and hope eternally. There are forces to guide us as we travel. We just have to receive.

Love and light to all.
