LONDON — Prince William has said that being a father has made him "more emotional" and more prone to welling up.
The royal is the father of two children, 2-year-old Prince George and Princess Charlotte, born in May. In a television interview, the 33-year-old said that becoming a parent has made him more aware of "how precious life is."
William said that he "never used to get too wound up or worried about things," but now feels more affected by world events.
"Now the smallest little things, you well up a little more, you get affected by the sort of things that happen around the world or whatever a lot more, I think, as a father," he said.
"Just because you realize how precious life is and it puts it all in perspective. The idea of not being around to see your children grow up and stuff like that."
The ITV program, to be aired Monday in Britain, is about Prince Charles' charity, the Prince's Trust, set up 40 years ago. It also features interviews with Charles and his wife Camilla.
