MANILA, Philippines - The goal was weight loss, and after 60 days, Freego’s #SuperShapeMe Fitness Challenge 2015 grand winners Cy Ortega and Xis Pingol achieved that and more.
Besting nine other competitors, Ortega dropped 38 lbs. from his starting weight of 240 lbs. to win the coveted all-expenses-paid trip for two to Coron, Palawan. He also won Freego’s complete Body Circuit collection, and a feature in Men’s Health Philippines magazine.
Pingol, who started the competition at 222 lbs., lost 27 lbs. — more than any of her nine competitors. The feat earned her an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Coron, Palawan, as well as Freego’s entire Super Shaper collection and a feature in Cosmopolitan Philippines magazine. Besides weight loss, Ortega and Pingol were also judged according to their overall performance (or compliance with all contest requirements) and online voting scores.
Special prizes were also given to exemplary contestants of the challenge. Ortega claimed the Under Armour People’s Choice Award, Mik Primacio snapped the Insta-Aesthetic Award, Most Inspirational Story award went to Josh Oblipias, Vince Lim was named Diet Breakout Star, Janssyll Dellosa received the On The Dot award, and the title for Sexiest Male and Female contestants went to Migo Salvador and Maryl Robleza, respectively.
Selected from over 800 candidates from a nationwide search last August, the 10 male and 10 female contestants of Freego’s #SuperShapeMe Fitness Challenge 2015 underwent two months of supervised workouts from fitness coach, professional basketball player Chris Tiu. Meanwhile, restaurateur and food blogger Erwan Heussaff served as their nutrition adviser. Each contestant’s diet and exercise progress were also monitored through postings on the challenge’s dedicated Facebook and Instagram accounts, as well as in the Viber fitness and health public chat group.
