MANILA, Philippines - A pediatrician's simple demonstration on how to calm a crying newborn in seconds has gone viral on Youtube.
According to Dr. Robert Hamilton of the Pacific Ocean Pediatrics, one of the biggest concerns of parents coming to his consultation room is about calming their crying baby. This is why he thought of doing a quick tutorial video to give relief to exasperated parents.
On the video, Hamilton, who has practice pediatrics for 30 years, shares how tucking babies can reduce their distress. He calls the technique, "the hold." It mainly consists of four steps: folding the baby's arms across the chest, securing arms gently, grasping diaper area and rocking at 45-degree angle.
