Getting a kick out of mixed martial arts
Mixed martial arts has been on a monumental rise!
All over the world, more and more people are appreciating the sport of MMA, which is a combination of essentially all the martial arts.
Gone are the days when you’re contented with two boxers just using their fists, or taekwondo jins impressing with their leg kicks.
Now, it’s a totally different sport, which incorporates just about every discipline on the planet!

One Championship is at the forefront of Asian MMA and they just finished a blockbuster card in Indonesia!
One Championship is the largest sports media property in Asian history. Based in Singapore, the world’s most exciting mixed martial arts organization hosts the best Asian mixed martial artists and world champions, all signed to exclusive contracts, on the largest media broadcast in Asia. They have partnered with Fox and Star Sports for an unprecedented 10-year cable television deal with a coverage that spans 70-plus countries across the world.
In Jakarta, the fans were thrilled to witness 10 fights, highlighted by the interim One Featherweight World title, where top contender Marat Gafuroz of Russia destroyed the challenge of Martin Nguyen in under a minute! He now looks forward to facing the reigning champion Narantungalag Jadamba of Mongolia!
My fight of the night was Koji Ando, who threw everything he possibly could at MMA star Roger Huerta, but had to settle for a hard-earned decision.
Tight choke by Burns on Nastyukhin?
I have never seen anyone, and I mean anyone, receive that much punishment in the cage, and finish the fight! That was a testament to Huerta’s heart and tremendous conditioning.
Other exciting fights were Brazilian Herbert Burns’ clinical victory over the dangerous Timofey Nastyukhin and the sensational knock-out of Aleksei Butorin over top contender Leandro Ataides!
Top Singaporean fighter Angela Lee?
Next up is the card in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this coming Friday, where a number of Filipinos, like Honorio Banario, Eric Kelly, Eugene Toquero, and Ruel Catalan will be showcasing their talents.
But local fight fans are already bracing for the final month of the year, because One Championship will end their season in Manila, with Brandon Vera looking to give the Philippines its first heavyweight title over Chi Lewis Parry of the UK!
