MANILA, Philippines - Jan Dungo didn’t like to wear braces, thinking they would make her look geeky. But she needed braces to align her teeth. And she had no choice but to wear them.
According to Filipino-Persian dentist Dr. Farzaneh Jimenez Shamsi, co-founder/co-owner of Fashion Smile, Jan had crowded, misplaced, or blocked-out teeth.
So, Dr. Shamsi and fellow dentist Dr. Shahideh Nikbin buckled down to work. Because Jan didn’t want her braces to be noticeable, the Fashion Smile doctors recommended Radiance Clear braces.
“Radiance braces are the clearest twin brackets available, proven much clearer than other monocrystalline or polycrystalline ceramic systems. Each Radiance Plus bracket is created from a single crystal of pure grown sapphire — one of the hardest materials in nature, second only to diamond. The crystal is honed and heat polished into a remarkably strong and beautiful bracket that’s nearly invisible on the teeth.” says Dr. Nikbin.
“The most popular reason that motivates patients and many teenagers to choose sapphire braces is the aesthetic factor. They are crystal clear and virtually disappear on your teeth, are less noticeable than metal and do not stain patients’ dentition,” says Dr. Shamsi.
Jan received special care and expert advice from the lady dentists on what kind of braces to wear.
“Fashion Smile doctors know exactly what patients need,” shares Jan.
She adds that the clinic’s ambiance is relaxed and calming. The Philippines’ first dental spa doesn’t feel like a clinic at all.
Doctors Shamsi and Nikbin are hands-on and offer personalized care.
“Their strength is knowing exactly what their patients need. They (dentists) are very experienced and trustworthy,” adds Jan.
The two dentists finished their Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree at Centro Escolar University, and earned their second dental license in Iran. Dr. Nikbin holds a postgraduate degree in Orthodontics from the University of the Philippines. She is an Orthodontics & TMJ (temporomandibular joint) specialist.
“A beautiful smile gives you confidence and that confidence is seen by others. The treatment itself will change your life for the better. Whether it’s self-assurance that comes with a great smile or the improved health that comes with a perfect bite, orthodontic treatment is a great investment for yourself,” says Dr. Shamsi.
