Things to do to start 2015
MANILA, Philippines – By the end of the year, the bucket list you did at the start of the year has been forgotten and you probably have disregarded your resolutions. But that does not mean you have to give up trying.
Nothing feels better than starting off the new year with a clean slate. Now is the perfect time to yet again wrap things up and start new tasks.
Here are the things you should do for a fresh and fun 2015:
Clear the storm
The key to having a good year is to get rid of junk, may it be from your closet, your inbox or your life. Get your gloves on and reorganize your closet. Toss away the things you do not need anymore. Better yet, give it to someone who needs it more. Don’t be attached to the old messages in your inbox, especially those kinds that would just remind you of the bad days you had during the year. Delete everything! Nothing feels fresher than having a clean inbox and clear head at the start of the year.
Tie up the loose ends
Loose ends are the unsettled issues that keep you from you awake at night – may it be an issue with your ex, old friend or a family member. Skeletons are hard to keep buried because they always have a bone to pick. When loose ends are bothering you, they take your focus off doing what it takes to succeed. Loose ends must be tied up so they cannot run free to keep you away from doing what you want to do and going where you want to go.
Pay your debts and be tax ready
If there's someone you don't want to run into on a grocery store or when you are out dining in a restaurant, it is someone who you have borrowed a money from. Pay off your debt you have borrowed from a friend six months ago. If you cannot pay the whole amount, at least downsize your debt. Starting off the year knowing that your debts are clear is better than carrying that financial burden in 2015. Organize your bills, receipts and review your payments. According to Marketwatch.com, if you’re paying estimated taxes, now would be a good time to review your payments, especially if you had a big change in income from the prior year.
Kill one bad habit at a time
Most of the time, the reason why people have bad habits is because this is their way of coping up with stress, boredom and sometimes loneliness. Stop using your time and energy on feeding those bad habits. Instead, find a healthier substitute. Replace it with things that will make you feel improved rather than those that will make you feel consumed. Focus on one bad habit, start on your worst one. When you have finally gotten over your worst habit, doing the rest will be easier.
Shake off the negatives and establish positivity
Do not dwell on your failures. Go through them at once but do not spend the remaining days of the year being sad and regretful about it. Better, make a list of what you have accomplished this year and a list of those that you wished you had achieved. Highlight your success. Do a positive comparison, which will help you make newer goals and help you move forward in the next year.
