Fermented, guiltless snacks for the health buff

MANILA, Philippines – While most of us are concerned about the danger that salty and acidic snacks give, David Chang, a chef who owns a culinary lab dedicated to food science says that you can snack on some salty food without being burdened by the thought of it harming your health.

Rotten goes delicious and salty goes healthy with a process called fermentation. Fermentation is not just a way of preserving food. Every food expert would tell you that the healthiest foods are usually the ones which are fermented.

Fermentation is a process where fruits and vegetables are placed in a jar and left there until their sugars and carbs become bacteria-boosting agents. This process produces probiotics that can boost your immunity and even help you lose weight and have a beautiful skin.
