Manila’s finest take to the greens
Manila’s finest took to the greens of Sta. Elena Golf Club for the 1st Aviva Golf Tournament! Aviva Pacific Golf Corporation is the distributor of Adidas golf apparel and shoes as well as Taylormade golf equipment.
Perfect weather prevailed as the tourney was set off by Aviva CEO, Sherwin Hing, COO Jesus “Chucho” Martinez III, and Simon Sim, head sales director for Asia/Pacific of Taylormade-Adidas Singapore.
Spotted enjoying themselves were notable VIPs that included Mike Toledo, Kenneth Hing, GP Reyes, Nikki and Valerie Tang, Mike Besa, Hubert Lim, Daniel Go, Vic Sotto, Anjo Yllana, Ian Dy, Henry Nguyen, Sid Garcia, Jayvie Agojo, Bea Locsin, Hannah See and Pie Alvarez. Also in attendance were brand ambassadors Derek Ramsey, John Estrada, Andi Manzano-Reyes, Mika Lagdameo-Martinez, and Tessa Prieto-Valdes.
The tournament was successfully held through the enthusiastic support of presenter PLDT Home Fibr and partners that included QBE Insurance, Jewelmer, Autohub (Rolls Royce), Autostrada (Ferrari), Credit Suisse, Omega, PLDT, AIRBUS, Maincoat Inc., Platinum Group Metals Corp. (PGMC), Altawitawi Nickel Corp. (ANC), Carrascal Nickel Corp. (CNC), and Impact Golf.
The fun continued with a 19th Hole celebration and awarding at Sta. Elena’s Club House grounds, highlighted by the performance of Bea Tantoco and The Sauce.
The tournament winners for the Ladies Division were: Eden Hernandez, champion; Tina Yupangco, 1st runner-up; Sophia Araneta, 2nd runner-up.
The Class C Division winners were: Abelardo Mondoñedo, champion; Rolly Abella, 1st runner-up; Alan Chng, 2nd runner-up.
The Class B winners were: Rio Venturanza, champion; Michael Go, 1st runner-up; Mark Gabriel, 2nd runner-up.
The Class A winners were: Juami Rocha, champion; Hubert Lim, 1st runner-up; Tootsie De Jesus, 2nd runner-up.
The lowest gross champion award went to Jason Barcelon while Marvin Capparos was named over-all net champion.
The organizers are all looking forward to the 2nd Aviva Golf Tournament, which is planned for February 2015.
