Celebrating the athletic spirit and ‘la dolce vita’

Italian brand Ellesse has always been a favorite of mine, even when I was a kid growing up and playing tennis, which was why I was so excited when they launched their summer 2014 line at Bonifacio High Street recently.

At a time when fast fashion dominates the market and the trend is all about piling every look on top of another, the sophisticated and elegant bunch retreats to a time when quality craftsmanship and timeless fashion define one’s style.

In comes Ellesse, a brand that has its roots in fashioning sportswear for skiing and tennis. From a household name for high-quality sports wear, Ellesse has evolved to become a leading lifestyle casual wear label that bears the elements of elegant resort dressing for the pedigreed set. Vibrant, colorful, and classic, Ellesse is a celebration of the athletic spirit and la dolce vita, or the sweet life, as the Italians call it.

As a result, the brand continues to transcend time and fleeting trends with its iconic signature apparel, footwear, and accessories.

Ellesse shows everyone that classic style and sophisticated designs can be just as fresh and exciting.

At the launch, media personalities and VIPs were invited for an afternoon of style and heritage. The guests were treated to classic Italian amuse-bouche and drinks prior to being impressed with the brand’s fresh new collection which is available in Ellesse stores this season.

Inspired by the wondrous spectrum of colors, Ellesse makes hues the focal point of its latest collection — dividing the line into pastels and black and white pieces.

For men, Ellesse rolled out a number of classic polo shirts that bear simplistic yet timeless designs like stripes and color- blocking. Inspired by the dreamy and fresh pastel trend, men can choose among mint green, light pink, powder blue, pale yellow, lime green, mocha, and goldenrod.

Meanwhile, the pastel varieties for women are much more simplistic yet punchy. Stylish ladies may enjoy pairing plain pastel hued polo shirts with printed skirts and bottoms.

As for the black-and-white pieces, the classic man and woman can stock up on fresh and crisp polo shirts that will surely go well with anything. The pieces bear sharp detailing, from classic twin tipping to a trendier polka dot print which is very in this season.
