Creating star athletes, fulfilling hoop dreams
MANILA, Philippines - Returning in its sixth consecutive year in the country, the Jr. NBA Philippines presented by Alaska strengthens its position as the most prestigious venue for aspiring athletes to hone and develop their skills, learn sportsmanship and fulfill their NBA dreams with an even better and holistic program.
The Jr. NBA is the NBA’s international youth development program that promotes basketball participation, sportsmanship and teamwork, and an active lifestyle among children. In the program, the young players go through fun and exciting activities and clinics that will test their talents, increase their knowledge about the sport, and prepare them for the real hard court.
Already an institution in developing the youth’s fundamental skills in basketball, the much-participated youth clinic also instills each player with its four core star qualities — sportsmanship, teamwork, a positive attitude, and respect. These values will be the foundation of their training, making them responsible adults in whatever career they will pursue, professional basketball and otherwise.
Moreover, the Jr. NBA program gives young hopefuls a chance to live the NBA experience. After the national training camp, 10 best players will be selected to form the 2013 Jr. NBA Philippine All-Star Team. They will have the opportunity to showcase their talents on a bigger court by competing with another Jr. NBA All-Star Team in another country.
Believing in the great potential of young Filipinos in sports, particularly in basketball, Master, the no.1 skincare brand for men in the country, and Rexona, the No. 1 deodorant brand for men, support the 2013 Jr. NBA Philippines.
As major sponsors of this prestigious annual clinic, Rexona and Master promote proper grooming and hygiene among all the participants. The two brands aim to provide the players with a program that not only focuses on skills and discipline, but also on having the confidence and the game face on and off the court, to fully equip them in their journey to become “star†athletes.
