MakatiMed relaunches Aesthetic Center

MANILA, Philippines - Makati Medical Center launched its new and improved Aesthetic Center — now housing the Aesthetic Surgery Center and the Manuel C. Fernandez, Sr. (MCF) DermLaser and Phototherapy Center under one roof — at the first floor of Tower 2.

The Aesthetic Center provides cosmetic and reconstructive procedures to improve or restore appearance, and consequently enhance physical and emotional well-being. The procedures offered at the center include face and nose lifts, breast augmentation and reduction, tummy-tuck or abdominoplasty, hair and fat transplants, ultrasound-assisted liposuction, and gynecological surgery, using the latest technology and conducted by the country’s top board-certified surgeons.

The MCF DermLaser and Phototherapy Center, the first hospital-based laser center in the Philippines catering to the most common and bothersome skin problems, used to be located in a different area of MakatiMed at the second floor of Tower 2. With its updated roster of gold-standard laser equipment, patients now have a one-stop shop for their aesthetic requirements.

The opening of the new center was led by Manuel Fernandez, Jr., MD, MakatiMed executive vice president and Aesthetic Center head; Peachy Lao, MD, section head of the MCF Center and chair of the Department of Dermatology; Malou de Veyra, MD, assistant section head of MCF; and Francisco Manalo, MD, section head of Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery.

“This has always been our home,” said Dr. Manalo, “but now our home is more complete. This is a positive step toward improving patient care.”
